Sponsor a nature reserve

Nature is at a crisis point nationally – and globally. And here in Dorset we’re not immune. But we’ve got a plan – and it’s right here on your doorstep. By enhancing and expanding our nature reserves, we can turn the tide on nature’s decline.

Every one of Dorset Wildlife Trust’s 42 nature reserves is a stronghold for rare and threatened species. For some, nature reserves are the last defence against habitat loss, vital for preserving biodiversity and protecting ecosystems.

Managing our nature reserves costs £2,277 each day – a huge sum, but perhaps not so considering the hard work and equipment needed to keep 1,950 hectares of vital habitats in top condition. It’s not always glamorous work, but it’s crucial for our wildlife’s future.

What’s needed now is significant financial investment from committed organisations who share our passion for the restoration of wildlife and habitat and our vision of a Dorset rich in wildlife. And in return, we are providing an opportunity for organisations to demonstrate tangible engagement with nature-based solutions, give back to the local community, and engage staff in health and wellbeing activities at local sites – as well as delivering on CSR goals.

Sponsor a nature reserve

Sponsoring a nature reserve is an opportunity for your organisation to demonstrate your commitment to nature’s recovery in Dorset. And with 42 reserves across Dorset, you can choose a site close to you and your staff, to encourage employee wellbeing and engagement in nature. 100% of your sponsorship will be spent on improving local habitats for wildlife and access to local nature reserves. Every penny will be spent right here, in Dorset.

Sponsorship of a Dorset Wildlife Trust nature reserve can be tailored to suit you and your organisation. You can choose the length of sponsorship, and the nature reserve you are sponsoring.
