We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a passion for working with people in their own communities. We are looking for a new member of our Wilder Communities Team who enjoys connecting people with wildlife, listening to their aspirations and helping them turn ideas for nature’s recovery into reality.
This role will work with communities in market towns across rural Dorset, with an initial strong focus on communities associated with the River Allen in east Dorset. You will raise the profile of the River Allen and its wonderful wildlife, identify community stakeholders, organise events and consultations and help us to prepare a Stakeholder Engagement Plan for the River Allen Landscape Recovery project.
No day will be the same, from working with an art group wishing to bring wildlife into their activities to supporting well established environmental groups with ideas for wildlife surveys, campaigns or habitat creation.
If you enjoy working with a great team around you, have a confident, personable nature, have experience of engaging with the public, are highly motivated and would like to be a part of a highly successful Conservation Charity, we would love to hear from you!
Please download the job description for more details, or feel free to email for more information about the role or to arrange an informal chat.
This post is offered at 28 hours per week (although less hours are negotiable, minimum 21) as a 1 year fixed term contract with possibility of extension
For further information please contact Nicki Brunt, Wilder Communities Manager at nbrunt@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk
