About the event

We are offering a special opportunity to spend a day with the team at the Wild Seas Centre. Perfect for all budding marine conservationists.

During the day participants will discover local marine wildlife, learn how to protect it and find out about this special area while obtaining some practical marine conservation skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to help behind the scenes in our aquarium. Carry out surveys to monitor the seashore and take part in a nurdle hunt to remove harmful plastic pellets from the beach. Activities may vary depending on conditions on the day.

Programme:

  • Wild Seas Centre and aquarium activities - 11.30am to 1.15pm
  • Lunch break - 1.15pm to 2pm (please bring a packed lunch)
  • Seashore activities - 2pm to 4.30pm

Suitable for ages 12-16 years. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the day.

What to bring

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring wellies or other sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting a bit wet!  

You will need to bring a packed lunch.

Parking information

Access to Kimmeridge Bay is via a private road which costs £6 per car per day payable to the Smedmore Estate (charges vary depending on the vehicle). Car parking is included in the toll fee.
