Kate edits the wildlife pages of BBC Gardners’ World magazine and regularly writes articles for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian, RHS Magazine The Garden, and BBC Wildlife and BBC Countryfile magazines.

For this event, Kate will give a demonstration of how to use and care for a bee hotel and show the guests around the Kingcombe Centre’s wildlife friendly garden, pointing out the best plants for pollinators and other easy wildlife-friendly habitats you can create at home.  There will also be a three-course dinner in the main barn at the Kingcombe Centre, and Kate will read an extract from her book, talk about the garden that inspired it, and answer questions.   

Kate has supported Dorset Wildlife Trust’s (DWT’S) Get Dorset Buzzing campaign with videos and blogs since it started in March.  Over 2,700 people have now signed up to do one thing for pollinators in their garden as part of the campaign.   

Kate said, “I'm so looking forward to the event at the wonderful Kingcombe Centre. Dorset Wildlife Trust is doing such brilliant things to raise awareness of the plight of pollinators and how we can help them in our gardens. I'm excited to share my knowledge and be part of such a fantastic event.”
