About the event
Join Harry as she introduces you to the joys of Nature Journaling. If you love art and nature and wish to connect the two or want to develop a deeper connection to the natural world, then this fun and practical session is for you.
In this session you’ll learn what nature journaling is all about, the materials you need to start Nature Journaling, learn simple drawing and recording techniques to get you started, as well as how to find inspiration from the world around you. You’ll explore the Kingcombe National Nature Reserve and by using a variety of skills including observation, sketching and writing, record what you see and your experience outdoors. Nature Journaling doesn’t have to be intimidating, it’s ultimately your own personal response to nature, so whether you’re a total beginner or just wanted to journal but didn’t know how, this course is for you.
Harry is an artist/ illustrator who holds a Masters of Illustration and works in conservation, using Nature Journaling as a way to connect with and learn about the natural world. She believes that anyone can learn to draw and that a Nature Journal is the perfect way to start honing those skills. So, for this course, no drawing experience is necessary, just a passion for nature and ‘a give it a go’ attitude!
