About the event

Join us at Portland Bill to keep a look out for dolphins and other marine animals as part of the 2024 National Whale and Dolphin Watch. Help with our survey, learn what signs to look for, how to spot and identify them and find out more about the types of whale and dolphin that can be seen in Dorset. 

This event is weather dependent, please call The Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre if unsure.

Dogs

Under effective control

The lookout will be situated near a cliff edge so dogs need to be kept on a lead or under close control

What to bring

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them, although we will have a few pairs available to borrow. If you are planning to stay for a while, you may want to bring a camping chair and a drink/snacks.

You will need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day as the lookout is exposed. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
