Be a part of nature’s recovery in Dorset

Dorset’s wildlife and wild places need you

Nature is in trouble, and we need your help to make it thrive once more. Making space for nature is vital if we are to address the dual threats of the climate and ecological crises. Nationally 1 in 6 species are at risk of extinction and, in Dorset, 1 in 40 species previously recorded are no longer present.

We all need nature, and we can all do something to contribute to its recovery. We need to reverse the decline and tackle the ecological and climate crises together. We can all help by providing opportunities for wildlife to feed, breed and establish new populations – whatever area we have available.

We’re working with people and communities to take action for nature’s recovery. We need as many people as possible taking action for nature and we want to inspire, encourage and support people who are thinking globally, to take action locally and make this decade transformational for the natural environment.

Together we can create a wilder Dorset and bring nature back

Did you know that evidence shows that if just one person in every four (25%) takes visible action, this can be enough to change the minds and behaviour of the majority? By taking visible action for nature, no matter how small, you can make an impact and invite more wildlife back into our lives whilst inspiring others to do the same.

There’s lots you can do to take action for nature. From volunteering and helping with conservation on our reserves to wildlife gardening or taking action as a community to make space for nature in your local patch.
